Blacky is mine, the base Abarth. The one on the left already has Vogtland lowering springs. Mine needs them badly.

My thoughts exactly! I'm in the market for something new and that sounds quite enticing. Maybe we can get a group buy on them! Hah!

I've already met the minimum for a group buy, call the salesman: 801 907-5544

I'm going to be building a new seat frame or seeing if I can get the 2014 1-2" lower seat frame.

I... was joking. But hot damn.
Where are you guys located and what exactly is the deal for this kind of thing?

That's why my 6'3" buddy bought the rag top, it gives you an extra inch or two.

Salt Lake City, the dealer is Ken Garff. I guess they were given a list of 2013 rebates to use with a $4,500 rebate from FIAT. They added $2,000 to it and have been selling 2013s like mad, buying up other dealers inventory and such. All three of these cars were purchased from the Denver store, shipped to Salt Lake and then sold.

ah such want. This is the perfect car for Toronto! and at that price that's a steal

Dammit, that's REALLY far away from me.

Think they'd ship?

I usually have some buyers remorse when buying a new car but with this car not even a doubt. Its' really great that FIAT took care of the off-the-lot depreciation hit for me.

makes you wonder how they make money as a company

If I can find a way to get it here and wait a week to hear about the new job, and can find a decently base model one, I am so on top of this.

There's an even cheaper Abarth on their lot, also a black one but with no sunroof.

I'd be fine without the options, I just need a reliable, warrantied, decent mpg, daily driver here soon. The only thing stopping me from picking up the phone right now and getting that rolling is figuring out how to get it here without spending tons of cash.

Where are you located?

Destin, FL.
Just did the math, I could get a one way ticket into SLC and drive it back for just under $700.

If you're lowering a Fiat you're probably missing the point of the car. Learn to enjoy it as-is, because it's much more fun that way. Although maybe the Abarth has too much power to be a proper Fiat, so it might just be justifiable in this case.

Shipping it would be about$800-$1,000 and they may cover up to half of that amount. They shipped cars in from Denver without charging us.
Call the sales dude Jacob 801 907-5544, they may make a sweet deal for you since it's the last day of the month.

Three inches of wheel gap is a whole lot on a little car, see the above pic, the springs only lower it about an inch. They are easy to install at home with hand tools and they install in just a couple hours. They are also pretty cheap at $170 shipped.
BTW, the Abarth is a very angry 500.

Thing is, little Fiats need the travel. If the suspension isn't quite soft, they're not as much fun to drive. Probably faster, but not as much fun.
Did you ever get a chance to drive a Citroen 2CV?
Your Fiat's nowhere near as extreme as a 2CV, but it's still from the same school. Feeling the weight - what there is of it - move around is part of the fun.

FIAT lets Chrysler make money for them. They just stay home and look pretty.

Grrrr. I can't commit to anything until I hear about the new job situation. I'll give them a call as soon as I do and see what they can do. Should I mention that I got tipped off by you?

Use the Website for Fiat of Salt Lake City to watch inventory, search 2013 500 Abarths, click on the window stickers to see actual pricing and then subtract $4,500-$6,500.

I had checked it out earlier, looks like there's quite a few still there. You said that the large rebate was a Fiat thing, not dealer specific, I wonder if I could get my local dealership to come anywhere near those prices.
![]() 02/28/2014 at 17:26 |

There is a $4,500 rebate on 2013 Abarths, the dealer then added an additional $2,000 discount.
The only requirement is that we had to finance through Fiat for six months at 5-6% before we could refinance with our preferred bank/credit union. I assume the dealer is getting a finance kick back that makes the deal worth it. Contact your local dealer and see what they would do. Hopefully they are a pushover like ours.

According to the interwebz the cheapest Abarth on the local lot is $26k, with basically no options. Strange.
I'll definitely look into this a lot further once I hear back on the job. I had been toying with the idea of a Ford Fiesta, but if I could get an Abarth for the same money, that is definitely too good to pass up.

Buy this one, stickering at $22,800:

Must. Resist. Temptation.
Next Tuesday I will know if I can feasibly do it. If it's still there, then phonecalls will be made.

Good luck, let us know how it goes. I'll be spending my weekend taking my Abarth apart, swapping springs and such. ;)

The Abarth has quite a bit of body roll stock and it's bouncy as hell. All Fiats should be at least an inch lower from the factory IMHO.

I bought mine when they first came out, needless to say I didn't get anywhere near the deal you did. I took the depreciation hit and I still don't have buyers remorse. I know I still love my car because I don't mind writing the check every month. I'm not even upset when I hear people getting better deals than me! Enjoy the car!

Grrrr trying not to buy another car and this isn't helping.
